It's been five years!

I completely missed it (as it happened already on October 13), but now I realised that it was time to celebrate the fact that this blog has been up and running for more than five years now. It has become a database for me to check when we were doing all sorts of things, check which period I was into certain aspects and check when I received or bought various items. It's like a diary that is searchable.

This blog has never been about posting on a daily basis. I've only posted when I felt like it and this is the way I intend to continue. Moving on from the first five years then...

Layout alterations

Suddenly I felt like making a few alterations to this blog so here I present the new layout. I've added a few frames which will be put around some of my blog post illustrations (one of which can be seen below), and I have also changed the header and the section headings. The new and very visible font is called espesor Olas Lines and I have otherwise used Arial as a calming counterpart, with lots of space around each letter. Let's see how long this will "feel right"... I'm sure I will feel like making yet another make-over in due course.

Visualizing the goal

This is what it looked like last spring and I'm so looking forward to seeing something similar this year. While waiting for that I decided to create a new spring design for my website. I still keep it simple, but I've added an element of spring-like green as well as a zen-inspired formation I arranged from pebbles found on the beach. Perhaps they can help increase my feeling of serenity and help me hang in there until spring arrives for real.

The font is called "Print Clearly" and "Print Dashed."

Layout alternatives

I'm thinking about changing the blog design a bit again, and on my lunch I spent some time searching for a new font. A free one. I found this font library, dafont.com, which is full of really good — and free — fonts and I have to say that I'm impressed by the work these designers have put in.

Let's see what I come up with regarding this blog...

Tired right now

Late last night I got back from a week away. Today was filled with meetings, e-mails and phone calls, and I'm sure tomorrow will be pretty much the same. Then on Wednesday I'll be flying out early in the morning to hold a lecture at another university, which will be followed by a workshop on Thursday. Then I fly back home again, landing at approximately 10.30 pm. So I guess there won't be that much outside work — and subsequently not much to blog about — in the next few days. I'll try not to go nuts... :)

Facelift

I decided to work on the layout of this blog a bit more, something I haven't had that much time to do earlier. I *think* I'm done, but I'm sure I will tweak it again sooner or later.
