Sunrise

Friday morning was beautiful. It is still pretty warm here and there has hardly been any frost at all. It's nice... When I saw the sun coming up I knew there would be photo opportunities and before I even had breakfast, I was on my way to a place nearby where I knew I would be able to watch the sun rise.

It was really quiet. As I was standing there taking photos I only saw one more person, a woman on a bike, smiling as she cycled past me. I love this way of somehow greeting a new day, of focusing on the beauty I see around me, of watching the birds flying or swimming... I reevaluate issues that might have seemed stressful or gather strength to deal with things at hand.

Feeling lazy

Today we have just enjoyed ourselves. I bought some Saturday chocolate and pop corn for the children, and some shoes for myself. I'm positive that their candy was far more expensive than what I bought for myself. ;) Anyway, the last few days I've been looking around for party shoes, but, since my feet are pretty small, I always have huge problems finding shoes that fit. Today I found these at Skopunkten and since they also felt fine when I put them on I decided to buy them. T. calls me a shoe fetishist, but I wouldn't agree. At all! I also bought some Christmas presents, and even though he might not consider the shoes useful, he ought to be happy about the presents at least. :)

The cake, with lots of almonds and peaches, I baked yesterday. My oldest was a bit annoyed by the almonds bit, but he ate it anyway and I think he enjoyed it. I know I will have to get back to reading (for work) soon but for the time being I'm just relaxing happily on the couch.

Christmas festivities

Dinners and various get-togethers tend to come one after another in December and for us it kicks of with the traditional "julefrokost" (Christmas lunch, which sounds like a "breakfast" but actually is a dinner) on November 28. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone again and I have also enjoyed thinking about what to wear. (Don't laugh, T.!) This is pretty much what I came up with:

Purple shawl from Ellos, black dress from KappAhl, black shoes from La Redoute, Omnia Green Jade perfume from Bvlgari, black underwear from Dim, pantyhose from Lindex and the pearls are private.

Seasons

It's a beautiful day today and after getting some reading done I'm really looking forward to some time off. When the children finish school today we're driving to T.'s parents, which I'm sure will result in a weekend full of interesting conversation, good food, and perhaps also a lot of photos.

Winter has not yet arrived here. It's still pretty warm even though the leaves remaining on the trees are getting fewer and fewer. It's also getting dark in the late afternoons, so I've begun to look forward to lighting candles and the feeling of Christmas.

Aaah... I'd better get some things done before we leave.
